Scottish Fashion Awards

Last Monday the great and the good of the British Fashion industry congregated at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow for the annual Scottish Fashion Awards.

We were absolutely delighted to see three Fringe Alumni nominated in different categories:

  • Corrie Nielsen (Winner 2010): Best Use of Scottish Fabric by International Designer
  • Alice Palmer (Finalist 2010): Scottish Textile Brand / Textile Designer of the Year
  • Graeme Armour (Finalist 2007): Scottish Young Designer of the Year

Keen eyes may also have noticed that the Scottish Fashion Awards campaign creative for this year strongly featured key pieces from Corrie’s A/W12 collection, shown at London Fashion Week back in February:

We were so proud to see Fashion Fringe Founder and Creative Director, Colin McDowell, awarded the Fashion Ambassador gong for his ongoing contributions to Scottish fashion industries. The award was presented to him by friend and previous incumbent, Hilary Alexander.

Fashion Fringe Official Supplier, Fashion Monitor, was right at the front line delivering news from the night, in the form of Laura Hinttula and Hannah White. Perfectly dressed for the occasion, Hannah took to the red carpet modelling one of Corrie’s creations beautifully:

All in all, a great night for fashion, Scotland and Fringers!
