“Fashion Fringe gives us an ideal opportunity to share our expertise with these exciting young designers”, said Sue Perry-Whitehead, Director of Consumer Products and Retail Sales at DHL Express UK. “Through our mentoring programme, the designers gain an understanding of how important effective supply chain management is in the highly competitive world of fashion; helping them to become not only budding designers but business entrepreneurs.”

As the original home of Fashion Fringe, Covent Garden is proud to continue to support this prestigious initiative for the fifth year running.
Since 2008, Covent Garden has seen every step of the Fashion Fringe journey unfold. From the initial selection interviews with the judging panel to the intensive mentoring program for the finalists that takes place over the summer months and the culmination of the years’ hard work at the final catwalk show in September. All take place in Covent Garden where fashion’s future stars have been unearthed in the shape of Corrie Nielsen (2010 winner), Jena Theo (2009 winners), Elliot Atkinson (2009 runner-up), Eun Jeong (2008 winner), William Tempest (2008 runner up) and Aminaka Wilmont (2007 winner.)
Industry heavyweights from Suzy Menkes, Roland Mouret and Donatella Versace have made their way along the cobblestones along with A-list fashionistas such as Dita Von Teese, Alexa Chung, Emma Watson and Nicola Roberts to be a part of the Fashion Fringe story.
With Covent Garden’s rich history of fashion and culture, it provides the perfect home for the Fashion Fringe enterprise and over the past three years has maintained a joint commitment with Fashion Fringe to nurture the talent and creativity of future fashion designers.
Well established in the fashion world’s calendar, Fashion Fringe has uncovered some of the brightest future stars of British fashion.
Fashion Fringe is a fantastic initiative for harnessing young talent and as one of London’s key fashion and design hubs; Covent Garden continues to provide the perfect home for this pioneering programme.

Metro are the new Official Media Partner of Fashion Fringe 2011. “It’s wonderful to be part of the judging panel for this year’s Fashion Fringe. I’ve watched the project develop and grow, ever since publishing a fashion shoot styled by its first winners Basso & Brooke on Metro’s style pages in 2004. Helping nurture young design talent is one of the most important things a fashion editor can do and it’s certainly something I’ve tried to accomplish through Metro’s style pages. To be able to do so through Fashion Fringe, one of the most effective projects around today, is a great privilege.” Bel Jacobs
