Mayor's Office/City Hall

"London is a world-class cultural capital. Its energy and creativity is central to the character and identity of the city and this is a vital part of the image London projects around the world. As well as it's great cultural institutions, architecture, theatre, music and dance, the creative industries are central to London's success as a visitor destination and global business centre.

The city is well known as a centre for fashion, film and design. I am proud that great fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and john Galliano have been able to use London as a place of inspiration, as somewhere to experiment and to launch new ideas.

Nurturing and supporting the next generation of new talent is essential if London is to retain it's leading edge. I am therefore delighted to support Fashion Fringe in their quest to find and nurture the very best talent, helping new designers to create strong businesses in London and continue to build their work on an international scale." - Ken Livingstone
