July Newsletter 2013

12th July 2013

I am delighted to announce some very exciting news for Fashion Fringe.

We are collaborating with Peroni Nastro Azzurro on an imaginative project this month called The House of Peroni. I was invited to The House of Peroni Press Night this week and was amazed by the extreme creativity and innovation of this ambitious project. Located at 41 Portland Place in London, this building was utterly transformed into the absolute epitome of Italian culture. I was delighted to attend this event with three Fashion Fringe designers; Fyodor Golan, Haizhen Wang and Vita Gottlieb who are all participating in this project. These very talented designers will be creating a range of immersive events and experiences to truly showcase fashion whether in Italy, London, or wherever, by showing their audience exactly how a high class original design for a dress is created.

2011 Fashion Fringe Winners, design duo, Fyodor Golan will be treating guests to an innovative masterclass on 3D embroidery inspired by Peroni Nastro Azzurro’s famous blue ribbon. This is your opportunity to learn from one of the UK’s top newcomers. As regular showcasers now at London Fashion Week, this event is certainly not to be missed. Each guest will even be able to take their 3D embroidery design home with them as a lovely little souvenir of their experience with Fyodor Golan, whilst also getting a unique chance to see some of their most beautifully embellished collection pieces up close and personal.

This masterclass is taking place this Friday 5th July at 7.30pm, so do not delay a second further in booking tickets at The House of Peroni events page.

Avid followers of Fashion Fringe will know our most recent winner very well. Haizhen Wang was personally hand-picked by Christopher Bailey, Chief Creative Officer of Burberry and honourary Chair of Fashion Fringe and he has since shown the fashion world just how deserving of that honour he was. Haizhen Wang most recently closed both London Fashion Week and Shanghai Fashion Week, with a surprise congratulatory visit from Christopher Bailey himself – which was a marvellous gesture from a man who cares about what he does on any level.  And if that is not further proof of Haizhen Wang’s credentials then I do not know what is. We are now giving you the chance to experience this impressive designer’s talent in an intimate masterclass where you will see what it takes to win Fashion Fringe (with some of the winning collection on exclusive show) and learn all about his signature style of draping.

These masterclasses are taking place Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July at 3pm and Monday 22nd July at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased at The House of Peroni events page.

Winning Fashion Fringe is not the only way to become a success. Fashion Fringe finalists, of which Vita Gottlieb is living proof, have won just by getting that far. Vita Gottlieb, with her past experience in film-making, is a multi-talented fashion designer who is an expert in merging design, film and social media when creating a completely 360 degrees experience of the world of fashion. She will show you how to create beautiful collars (which you can take home) and you will also experience a premiere screening of her new film ‘Without Doubt’, which features, as does the masterclass, some of her most recent pieces from her AW13 collection.

These masterclasses are taking place Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th July at 7.30pm and Sunday 28th July at 3.00pm. Tickets can be purchased at The House of Peroni events page.

Fashion Fringe has one further treat in store for you all. I will be hosting two panel evenings with some of the industry elite, discussing Italy’s crucial influence on red carpet fashion.  It is my absolute pleasure and honour to confirm these two wonderful fashion designers:

  • 17th July: Antonio Berardi
  • 18th July: Roksanda Ilincic

Antonio Berardi and Roksanda Ilincic will each be welcoming some very special guests for both these evenings.  If you have ever watched with baited breath The Academy Awards, purely to see what your favourite actress is wearing then these events are designed for you. We will be dissecting the very best that the red carpet has to offer with some exclusive surprises on the night for those lucky enough to get tickets.

These events are taking place Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th July at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased at The House of Peroni events page.

To top all of this off, The House of Peroni opens its doors to everyone throughout the entirety of July, so be sure to go and test your senses by immersing yourselves in all the work of the Italian creative talent involved, in addition to delighting in specially created Italian dining and drinks.

We hope you enjoy these wonderful Fashion Fringe experiences!
