For almost nine years now, Fashion Fringe has been dedicated to unearthing the most promising talents in fashion and offering them an industry-recognised platform from which to transform their passions into a viable business.
We recently re-launched the Fashion Fringe blog, bringing it front and centre of our sparkly new website, in a concerted effort to showcase an insider look at what goes on behind the scenes of Fashion Fringe’s designers’ studios – following them on their journey to London Fashion Week.
So it made perfect sense for us to work with our long-standing friend, the London College of Fashion, to unearth some of the most promising talents in Fashion Journalism to help us tell our story*.
Meet Josh Walker.
Josh will be the very first Fashion Fringe guest blogger to take up the reins of this challenge. No stranger to the world of Fashion Journalism, Josh balances his LCF studies with media work – most recently interning with DASH magazine and contributing to Vauxhall Fashion Scout‘s editorial platform. Already his work has garnered industry accolades: Josh’s investigative piece on the truth behind anti-ageing cosmetics was short-listed for the annual Colin McDowell Sunday Times Young Fashion Writer Award 2012, and he was part of the team awarded best concept whilst trend forecasting the year 2017 for Proctor and Gamble.
With a passion for contemporary and avant-garde design, Josh is committed to seeking out and revealing stand-out, upcoming talent. If he’s not writing in his notebook, Tweeting (@josh_walker_), or Tumbling on his iPhone, you’ll probably find him taking in London’s art and culture.
So all in all, we are really excited to have him on board. Josh will be following our Finalists on their journey to London Fashion Week, capturing the mounting excitement and interviewing all the interesting people they will meet along the way.
Welcome to the Fashion Fringe family, Josh!
*With thanks to Josephine Collins, LCF’s Course Leader on BA (Hons) Fashion Journalism, who has made this collaboration possible.
