After running my own label for the past two years, the idea of being selected as a Fashion Fringe Finalist is something quite surreal.
I have dreamed of such an opportunity my whole life.
The days before the final selection were incredibly nerve-wracking; the possibilities floated through my mind and left me quite overwhelmed.
We are now already half way through the Burberry mentoring program, and the experience has been invaluable to say the least.
All of us have had the opportunity to see how a brand likes Burberry works, from the inside, learning and growing to understand the tracks leading to its success. It really is an unbelievable experience to see how the various departments interact and how the communications, both Internally and externally, are carried out.
Through this programme I have had the opportunity to learn from, and be mentored by, some of the great veterans in this industry, gaining their experience and knowledge and taking inspiration from these assets. All of the things that I have been able to see so far are pieces of knowledge which I will bring with me and grow from in the future.
I am very much looking forward to continuing my journey of the Fashion Fringe programme, especially as the materials have started to arrive and as we work towards the show in September.
I will be working for just a short while longer from my studio off Portobello Road, but we are now getting ready to have an all East-London summer in the studios of London College of Fashion.
I could not be more determined and excited to build my brand and am ever grateful for this enormous experience.
