Throughout the year, we are always looking for collaboration opportunities that offer our Alumni designers the chance to showcase their latest collection in more intimate environments than a traditional catwalk show.
While London Fashion Week is well attended by press and buyers, smaller-scale press days offer key editors, reporters and bloggers the chance to see the collections up close, getting a tangible feel for the design aesthetic and craftsmanship.
Most recently, Fashion Fringe collaborated with London’s stunning luxurious Corinthia Hotel in hosting a special event during February’s London Fashion Week. We took over two of the Corinthia’s beautiful Penthouses (the Writers and Musicians) to present three of our Finalists from the past three years – Elliot Atkinson (2009), Alice Palmer (2010) and Nabil Nayal (2011).
Similarly, in September last year, as part of our Vogue Fashion’s Night Out activity, we partnered with Covent Garden London to hold a small showcase event exclusively for our key bloggers, who were all given a sneak peak at the forthcoming Finalists’ collections for the 2011 Fashion Fringe catwalk show.
Our winning designers and Finalists also work with their PR teams on hosting their own private views and press days each season, where key media guests have the opportunity to review the pieces up close – having initially seen them on the catwalk, often at London Fashion Week.
We assist all our Alumni designers in promoting the details to the Fashion Fringe community and wider fashion industry.
