How do I apply for Fashion Fringe?

Fashion Fringe looks for an ability to demonstrate determination and courage as well as design creativity, underlined by strong business acumen.

There are two main elements to the application process:

1. The Application

The Application

Designers are asked to complete an application form and produce drawings for a capsule collection of 12-15 Womenswear looks for the following year’s Spring/Summer season. The collection designed will include sketches and flat drawings for each look, a minimum of 8 full-colour illustrations of finished designs, fabric swatches and full production costings. Some applicants also included a summary of idea development and inspiration – though this is not a mandatory component, it is useful at selection stage.

This portfolio and application must adhere to the full terms and conditions of entry.

2. The Interview

The Interview

From all applicants, ten short-listed Semi-Finalists are invited to London to take part in a technical day at the London College of Fashion, followed by a day of interviews with the judging panel and or Chair of Fashion Fringe for that year. At this interview, applying designers present their portfolios and introduce at least one finished garment (or toile) from the proposed collection.

Successful Finalists will be notified within a week of the interview selection day.
