What is Fashion Fringe?
Fashion Fringe is an annual award platform – founded by Colin McDowell in 2003 in conjunction with IMG Fashion – offering talented emerging designers the chance to launch their label in London through a combined programme of mentoring, studio space, financial support and a catwalk show at London Fashion Week.
Colin McDowell, fashion historian and commentator, felt that in order to help British fashion regain its place as a powerhouse of cutting edge originality, young talent needed to be targeted to make a dynamic fringe event to coincide with London Fashion Week.
He is even more convinced now that young designers are worthy of all the support we can give them.
Fashion Fringe is looking for cutting edge, iconoclastic talent in design and creativity to continue the tradition of Vivienne Westwood, Hussein Chalayan and the late Alexander McQueen.
